Privacy Policy — Google Meet Connection Alert
Last updated: August 19, 2026
Google Meet Connection Alert ("the extension") monitors the network connection of open Google Meet tabs and notifies you when the connection is lost or restored. This page explains what data the extension accesses, what it stores, and what — if anything — ever leaves your device.
1. Google Meet Connection Monitoring
The extension monitors network requests made by Google Meet in order to determine whether the Meet connection is currently available.
The extension does not read or collect your meeting messages, conversations, camera or microphone content, participants, recordings, or other meeting content.
Network request information is used locally by the extension only to determine whether the connection is working. The extension does not send this network monitoring information to our servers or to third parties.
2. Data Stored On Your Device
The extension stores its settings and connection state locally using your browser's built-in extension storage. This may include:
- Your extension preferences, such as volume and notification interval
- Your enabled/disabled settings
- The current Google Meet connection status
This information stays on your device and is not transmitted to us.
3. Audio Notifications
When a Google Meet connection is detected as lost, the extension can play a short audio alert. When the connection is restored, it can play a separate restoration sound.
Audio is generated locally in your browser using the Web Audio API. The extension does not record, upload, analyze, or otherwise collect audio from your device, microphone, or Google Meet.
4. What We Don't Do
- No analytics or tracking SDKs
- No advertising or ad targeting
- No selling or sharing of your data with third parties
- No collection of browsing history
- No collection of Google Meet conversations or meeting content
- No transmission of network monitoring data to our servers
